Laminate Floor Care & Maintenance

  1. Never flood the floor with water.
  2. Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen including pet urine.
  3. Do not use steam machines on your Tapestry floor.
  4. Never use any type of buffing or polishing machine.
  5. Dust, sweep, or vacuum the floor regularly with the hard floor attachment ( not the beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt and grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish.
  6. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring powder as these may scratch your floor.
  7. Occasionally, clean the floor with the Bona laminate floor cleaner. Use the Bona spray bottle and a clean cotton cloth. Be sure to change the cloth often and clean in different directions.
  8. Do not wash or wet mop floor with soap, water, oil-based detergent, or any liquid cleaning material. This could cause swelling, warping, delamination, and joint separation that is not covered under warranty.
  9. Place protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and denting. Replace when needed.
  10. Make certain furniture casters are clean and operate properly, and are at least 2” in continuous width. (3” may be needed for heavy fixtures or persons over 250 lbs.)
  11. Rolling office chairs may damage your laminate floors, a plastic floor protector is required
  12. Commercial partitions, racking, and chairs will need felt or floor protectors in commercial applications.
  13. Keep your pets’ nails trimmed to prevent them from scratching your new floor.
  14. Juice, wine, grease, and chocolate should be removed with a solution of clear non-sudsy ammonia based cleaner in one gallon of warm water and spot cleaned with clean white cloth.
  15. Shoe Polish, pain, crayon, ink, tar, lipstick, nail polish, or dried foods should be removed with damp rag of nail polish remover and spot cleaned with clean white cloth.
